Members of the Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but we all share several common bonds. Each of us descends from an individual who aided the cause of American independence. We are also women who are interested in making a difference in our communities through outreach focusing on historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership. For a complete description of DAR membership requirements, please visit our National Society Website.

Members need to prove bloodline lineal descent from a person who aided in the achievement of American Independence between 1775 and 1783. You will need to provide documentation (birth, marriage, death certificates) of yourself, your parents and your grandparents in order to get started.
